When one is afraid of being caught and punished, one lies. To protect oneself and put the risk to others. Sometimes, it works but other times, one feels horrible about the lie and lay in bed thinking about the consequences every night. One starts to think when it is ok to lie to someone. One doesn’t really know.

Parents teach children not to lie but sometimes, they lie in front of them to others. This confuses them and hence, they lie about completing homework and play instead of studying for the exams. So, why do we lie? To kid ourselves and to avoid workplace conflicts if possible.

Sometimes, we know we are going to lie today. Yours truly lied a few times and each time, the aftermath doesn’t feel good.
