It is said that men start to find new love after being married for seven years. This is called the seven year itch. Sometimes, it’s the women who look for new love. When a love seems to have died off, one does wonder if both have fallen out of love or the spark wasn’t kept burning.

It is sad to know that a close friend who has been married for 5 years to announce that the marriage has ended because of an affair. What is worst is that the wife may not love the husband and married him because of money. Sometimes, the marriage only lasted for less than a year and the wife was discovered to have an affair and a child with another man.
At other times, the marriage fails because of pressure. One does get scared as the marriage reaches the 7th year. Nobody wants a messy divorce. The spouse may not have wanted to have an affair because it was out of sheer boredom that the love or thrill of being together have gotten routine and even boring.

Being spontaneous may just save the marriage and keep the fire going. Going for walks together with just the two of you while the kids are being looked after can make it work because you get to spend some quiet time together.

It isn’t easy to build a bridge thus, forming great relationships takes patience and persistence. Do you have the seven year itch?
