On Hallowe’en the thing
you must do
Is pretend that nothing
can frighten you
An’ if somethin’ scares you
and you want to run
Jus’ let on like
it’s Hallowe’en fun.

While the Chinese may have the 7th Lunar Month for ghosts, Halloween isn’t what you will see Singaporeans going all out dressed up as devils, ghouls, witches, kings, queens and other characters to go around trick’a treating.
This year, Halloween falls on a Friday and some may have plans with friends to visit places where they can immerse themselves in this season of ghoulish fun. Usually, visiting houses are meant for kids to get as much sweets and candies as possible. A visit to the dentist is also a possibility since kids can’t resist sweet stuff.

Pumpkins, skeletons, candles may adorn the houses. In Singapore, it isn’t common since the doors are only so big and most of the elders believe it is bad luck to have such ominous objects decorating the house. What about families who just want to keep it among themselves for their children to have a little fun without having to clean up after that?
There are a few places. Zouk has a contest for the best Halloween costume, Night Safari has started the special tour package since 10th October, TCC has Evil One Eyed Frankie and NTUC has a Halloween party.
What else have you planned for Halloween?
