Wedding annversaries are not celebrated by everyone due to various reasons such as being so busy making money at work for the family or it doesn’t matter to some. The first wedding anniversary is the year to celebrate your first year as a married couple together.

The traditional gifts for the first year are related to paper. Calendars marked with special dates that the two of you know, love letters to each other, stationery including personalised writing paper, notepads, or boardgames (adult boardgames for getting the sexy back) where the two of can play.

Gifts have changed in the modern times to clocks such as cuckoo clock, alarm clock, decorative clock or watches. Clocks are not accepted in the Chinese culture as it’s akin to sending the person to an early grave due to similar sounds. (送钟 = 送终)

Alternatively, gifts such as adult toys, sunglasses, kitchen appliances, luggage accessories are also part of the evolution of gift giving. These gifts are in the range of plastics.
